Dragon Tiger Is Built for Speed
A round of Dragon Tiger is two cards. At Evolution's standard live table one is dealt about every 25 seconds, roughly 140 rounds an hour, and the Speed and Super Speed versions deal faster still. There are no decisions between bets and no hand to play out: every round is settled before the last one has sunk in. That pace is the game's appeal, and it is the reason this page starts with arithmetic.

What an Hour of Dragon Tiger Costs
The expected loss is the stake, times the number of rounds, times the house edge. On a Dragon or Tiger bet the edge comes entirely from the tie: 3.73% of the stake where a tie loses half the bet, 7.47% where it loses all of it. At about 140 rounds an hour, one bet per round:
| Stake per round | Wagered per hour | Expected loss, tie loses half | Expected loss, tie loses all |
|---|---|---|---|
| $5 | $700 | $26 | $52 |
| $10 | $1,400 | $52 | $105 |
| $25 | $3,500 | $131 | $261 |
Those are averages; a real hour can end well up or well down. Over many hours the average is what you pay. To run the numbers for your own stake, table rules and session length, use our Dragon Tiger Probability Calculator. Decide what an hour is worth to you before you sit down, and stop when it is spent.
Habits the Game Invites
Winning back a tie
A tie takes half of a Dragon or Tiger bet, or all of it, about once every 13 rounds. That is the price of the bet, not bad luck. Raising the next stake to recover it raises the price.
Reading the road
The bead road records what has happened; it does not forecast anything. Dragon and Tiger are exactly even on every round, which our Dragon Tiger Predictor Tool lets you see for yourself.
Switching to the long shots
Moving to the Tie or the Suited Tie to recover losses moves you to bets that cost more: 10.36% on a Tie at 11 to 1 and 13.98% on a Suited Tie at 50 to 1, against 3.73% on Dragon or Tiger. The figures are on our Odds & Payouts page.
Doubling after losses
In our simulator's test, Martingale finished 83.5% of 100-round sessions ahead, and its worst session lost 1,989.5 units against flat betting's 46. Try it in the betting system tester.
Warning Signs
Any one of these on its own can happen to anyone. Several together, or one that keeps returning, are a reason to talk to someone.
Time
- Sessions that run far past the time you meant to stop
- Playing when you had planned to work, sleep or see people
- Trying to cut back and finding you cannot
Money
- Staking money meant for rent, bills or savings
- Borrowing, or selling things, to keep playing
- Coming back the next day to win back yesterday
- Keeping the size of your losses from the people you live with
Mood
- Restless or irritable when you are not playing
- Playing to get away from worry, stress or low mood
- Guilt or anxiety after a session that does not stop the next one
Relationships
- Hiding how often or how much you play
- Arguments with family or friends about gambling
- Pulling away from the people and activities you used to enjoy
Tools to Switch On Before You Play
Set these up while you are calm, not in the middle of a session. Look for them in your casino account's settings or responsible gambling page; if you cannot find them, ask the casino's support, and treat a casino that does not offer them as a warning sign of its own.
- A deposit limit per day, week or month. Pick a figure you could lose entirely without it mattering.
- A session reminder that interrupts play after a set time. At 140 rounds an hour, half an hour is about 70 bets.
- A loss limit, where offered, so the session ends when the budget does.
- A time-out or self-exclusion when you want a break you cannot talk yourself out of. Many countries also run national self-exclusion schemes; the services below can tell you about yours.
