Evolution Released Two Dragon Tiger Tables in Two Months, and Only One of Them Is Dragon Tiger

In the space of six weeks in late 2025, Evolution shipped two tables with Dragon Tiger in the name. Super Speed Dragon Tiger is the game everyone knows, dealt faster. Dragon Tiger Phoenix is something else: a three-position game with its own tie structure that borrows the brand. Here is what Evolution's own release pages say each one does.

Super Speed: the Same Game, Less Waiting

Evolution's release page for Super Speed Dragon Tiger describes a table with a shorter betting time and swift dealing, keeping the familiar rules: one card to Dragon, one to Tiger, higher card wins, with a Suited Tie that pays 50:1. The standard table already runs about 25 seconds a round; Super Speed removes more of the gap between decisions.

For the player the mathematics is unchanged and the cost per hour is not. A shorter round means more rounds, and expected loss is the house edge multiplied by everything wagered. On a half-back table the main bet gives the house 3.73%; at a faster pace that percentage is applied to more dollars. The odds page works the hourly figures.

One detail on Evolution's own catalog page is worth flagging: the page's HTML title labels the game a "Live Dealer Experience by Ezugi," while the page body is branded Evolution. Ezugi is an Evolution subsidiary with its own Dragon Tiger table (Tie 8:1, Suit side bet), so the studio attribution for Super Speed should be read from the game itself, not the page title.

Phoenix: a Third Beast Changes the Math

Dragon Tiger Phoenix, released September 17, 2025, is described by Evolution as a new take on the game with a third position, Phoenix, alongside Dragon and Tiger. One card is dealt to each of the three; the highest wins and pays 1:1. Evolution's page cites a 7:1 payout when two positions tie and 20:1 when all three do.

That structure makes Phoenix a different game rather than a variant. With three cards in play, the chance that any two match rises sharply compared with the two-card game, which is why a two-way tie pays 7:1 rather than the 11:1 of Evolution's standard table. Evolution has not published deck count or the rule for main bets on a tie for Phoenix, so we publish no house edge for it; the History & Variations page records what is and is not stated.

Phoenix will appear in casino lobbies under the Dragon Tiger name and in Evolution's baccarat category, which is where the confusion starts for players. A reader who has learned the two-card odds should treat the Phoenix table as unmapped territory until Evolution publishes its rules in full.

Where the Family Came From

Evolution's first Dragon Tiger was announced in the company's Year-End Report 2017, published February 15, 2018, in which chief executive Martin Carlesund described "strengthening our Baccarat portfolio with two new variants, No Commission Baccarat and Dragon Tiger." Lightning Dragon Tiger followed in April 2024, adding a 20% fee on every bet and a random 2x to 8x multiplier on one suit each round, with a Tie or Suited Tie containing two Lightning cards multiplied twice, to a marketing maximum of 1280x.
